BSF ROCKS and pants story

It is a joy to see him do the best he can returning to Bible study fellowship after another successful surgery. The days and nights of pain and agony are behind us now. Hallelujah! And he matched a couple others who also wore army green! Soldiers for the Lord!

Victorious then glorious! Timothy was excited to share that we are SUPPOSED TO BE ON FIRE 🔥 FOR GOD! not lukewarm and I told him YES! We are learning the same thing in Revelation at BSF and I am grateful to hear his joy recapping the lessons.

I was NOT excited when Timothy looked at my jeans and said that women shouldn’t go to church with their knees showing…in ripped jeans!

I am no longer skinny. I refused to wear the style when it first came out in my late teens. As a Church Girl who was hooked on Jesus, that was definitely a NO NO too tight and inappropriate pants. There was no way I would be caught wearing tight jeans inside church or anything with a hole in it as fashion…oh how much I have changed 🙃😅😆😩 Timothy said that it looks trashy! Whatttt! Who told you about trashy dressing? And where did he get women who should not have their knees exposed?

You shouldn’t have her knees out mommy…

Why? You have ripped jeans (which he cried to wear thinking that people would laugh at him) Because I’m a woman? That’s when he said well yes, that’s trashy!

I was flabbergasted 😲. Ripped at the knees is NOT trashy! Who told you that!

I sent the picture to my husband who basically agreed with Timothy saying out of the mouth of babes 🙄😅I said well the new Tameeka wears ripped jeans and she wears them to BSF at church!!

I sat in the car thinking about the times when I asked Jesus to dress me. I would open my closet doors and ask the Holy Spirit to pick out my outfit as a teenager and even as a young adult. When did I stop? When did I become so causal as the majority of the culture? I am still quite modest but not as before.

Side note– Now some church outfit rules are plain ridiculous and others too loose!but this is not what this post is about.

Did Timothy remember that young preacher? And why didn’t I feel bad about my ripped jeans at the knees? It is still a challenge dressing plus size Tamee and it can get frustrating!!

It was not a church service! But the meeting was inside a church house! I am aware that the ministry and mission God has for me and my family means that I/we don’t get to do, say, go or dress nor partake in everything or anything that may even be okay for other believers. And that is okay. It is about God’s glory!

Well, I just sighed and went inside to change my pants. I pulled off the tight jeans and put on my (over worn 😅) jazzy Palazzo pants– no rips. There is a time and place for everything and an outfit for every place. And a caring and loving God to please and answer to for what we do! Some outfits are obviously a big NO as wives and Christian women. By the end of BSF, I was glad to not be as restricted in ripped knees skinny jeans 😅

When in doubt, ask Jesus or Timothy about your 👖. And go Vote for the glory of God!
