Gone –in a yard sale

My very first microwave that I bought 12 years ago was sold on Saturday. I moved from Brooklyn to Austin, slept at the airport to save money instead of getting a hotel room…but my apartment was still not ready when I got there…and there was no microwave. My favorite household appliance is the microwave. Wish I knew that I could get one from the pawn shop back then 🤣🤣😂 but I did buy it on sale at Macy’s or Walmart.
I had my first garage sale– Timothy says it’s a yard sale since we did not sell from inside of our garage 😀. My dear husband set up the fan, Bluetooth speaker & music and eventually put up the tent as I requested. Timothy sat beside me yelling out GARGAE SALE GARAGE SALE!! 😂🤣 Within the first 2 hours, about four shoppers stopped by including our neighbor from across the street. We stayed out between 9 am and 12:30 pm, taking breaks to get water and AC inside! Deon was also in and out as Griffith Electrical LLC had 2 jobs (his side jobs aka panquey 🤑🤑). I forget that he had jobs scheduled and was going to cancel but Timothy encouraged me (demanded) to go on with the sale. He even brought out his Buzz light-year and some other toys to add to the sale table. 👏🏿😀
I posted the sale event on the Nextdoor neighborhood app and on the Facebook Manor group. I am certain that the other folks who stopped by came because of my GET OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE advertising 😂. I also posted flyers on our cluster mail box. My prayer was for at least 5 people but more showed up including our next door neighbor who tasted and enjoyed my Seamoss lemonade. Hallelujah!! He also donated cash. I am even more confident now to take it up a notch. To reach out more. To plan and pray and prepare to do more! And to seek help! The funds will be used to send needed items to Grenada.
Cleaning out and reorganizing our closet felt even more fulfilling as I gathered clothes to donate and sell. Less is more and I intend to keep on simplifying our lives in any way possible! Some things I just needed to let go of and I’m glad that I did! I thank God for a safe and successful first yard sale! And shout out to my husband and my son for supporting and helping me. Deon even complimented my industrious effort! 🥰
