As a sweet treat to celebrate Deon’s birthday on Tuesday, we made Icecream on Sunday night πŸ˜€! Anytime is a good time for Icecream in our house and it is something we don’t have all the time which makes it a delightful experience when we indulge πŸ₯°πŸ₯³

I Boiled some water with cinnamon sticks and 2 bayleaves. While it was boiling, I was stirring 5 spoonfuls of custard powder into ice cold water. I also grated a whole nutmeg and a half.

Once the spices water started bubbling, I added the cold custard mixture, stirring as I poured it in. I turned down the heat from high to low and kept stirring for about 2 minutes.

Next I added the grated nutmeg and one can and a half of sweetened condensed milk. I stirred until the milk was blended in smoothly and the color changed from custard yellow to a cream. I turn the burner off and allow the custard to cool.

Deon set up the Icecream can, adding the ice and salt. I added heavy whipping cream to the custard and then tasted. Yum. I added the custard with added whipped cream to the ice cream maker and Deon plugged it in.

We checked every 20 minutes and it was ready – a smooth creamy consistency of our liking- about 1 hour and 10 minutes later.

Yum. We enjoyed together in bowls since we forgot to get Icecream cones 🍦🍦🍦

**We did not intend to teach so no measurements are shared– none was really used. I estimated everything πŸ€πŸ˜…

And in the end, it was delicious although not sweet enough to Deon’s liking. We need to cut back on sweet anyway πŸ€ͺ
