Dear Timothy, life here is short.

A helicopter crashed and it is news headlines because there was a famous basketball athlete on board. The tragic death of Kobe Bryant will probably be in your history books by the time you are in High School.

Life can be fun. Life can be silly and painful too. And there are moments when life has sad moments , gruesome events and inevitable occurrences. Dying is inevitable. No matter how hard you work, how much love you give, how much you accomplish, you are not immortal. Famous athletes are not immortal.

The Holy Bible tells us that there is a time to die [Ecclesiastes 3:2]. We may not know when we will die but it will happen. It happened to a lovely Christian grandma who was a devoted Pastor’s wife. She died a few days after Christmas Day in 2019. It happened to a young mother who was about to celebrate her second wedding anniversary after giving birth to their first child. She died a few days before Christmas in 2016. Her daughter was only one day old.

My prayer for you my son is that you live knowing that life on earth is short. It is my plan to teach you that you are a living soul [Genesis 2:7]. You have a spirit and live in a fleshly body. Your soul matters most! Timothy, may you live to be old and strong, healthy and wise with all the wealth you need to enjoy an abundant and generous life!
