WAKANDA FOREVER

I am not a big fan of Halloween but I will get Timothy a Wakanda Black Panther costume.

My husband and I were watching the news. I was a bit irritated having to endure conventions which delayed the news times. But then the news anchor shared the sad news. Chadwick Boseman has passed away. Deon and I just froze and looked at each other in silence. It was like hearing that a close cousin or cool uncle had died.

Wow. Heartbroken. Surprised. Sad. Disappointed. Really? And for me the surpise was not so much his death but why we feel the pain of this unrelated celebrity? I have seen him at award shows and one time I thought, he looks sick or weak or something is wrong…

Why does his passing touch our hearts more than others who we are not related to? His light. His genuine kindness shone through the characters he portrayed on screen. I know that Leticia who played his sister in Black Panther is a Christian but I did not know that he was too.

It All makes sense now. Mr.Brother Chadwick Boseman was not just another hardworking, excellent Black actor. He had an inner light amd kindess that permeated on the outside the peace he had on the inside. What an example of a man who persevered through only God knows the pain he endured in his body sometimes.

Grateful to have seen some of his movies. We will find and keep all of them. He was a great example. I believe that he is resting and rejoicing in the presence of our Father.

Why now Lord? Why him? Why not a miraculous healing since he was doing good works both on and off screen? Why in 2020!

God is great and does marvellous and unexplainable things- some we will never have the answer to. I trust that Chadwick’s legacy will live on. Not sure if he has children biologically but I know that he has impacted many Black and non Black little boys and girls to be great.

Indeed he was more than a superhero.
