I prefer beaches

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

The sand, the sound of waves, the birds and the coconut trees make for a good relaxing time outside. Growing up on a mountainous island with lots of beaches, I prefer the beaches to mountains because climbing mountains is a difficult task. The view is not always worth the struggle, the hiking through narrow and often muddy paths, the pain and sweat to get to the top.

I am not afraid of heights. I do not like being out in the sun for too long either but when water is nearby, at the beach, the sun is warm and welcoming.

I prefer beaches perhaps because I am a summer baby, born in July. Getting to go to the beach was a great treat. I enjoyed playing by myself as a child. Playing in the sand, building and creating while imagining that my dolls were real was easier to do than climbing a mountain with my cousins.

Beaches over mountains!!

What about you? Which do you prefer even if you look at picturesque images of beaches and mountains. I love looking at the sunset over beaches. Sunset at Grand Anse in St George’s Grenada is glorious!
