6 Ways to Use an Avocado When It’s Overripe

My American born son looked at the ripe avocado with disgust– the spots and blemishes offended him! “Why does it look so beat up!” he says about the spotty banana. I tried to explain that the fruit is just getting more ripe and the spots are a sign that they are even sweeter! They are not beat up and still edible.

I thought how sad for Timothy, like so many other children who have never been around fruit trees to see that they do not grow shiny and blemish free as portrayed in pictures or at the supermarket! Oh the deception and drive to meet marketing standards while destroying what’s real and taking away the experience and joy of simply enjoying the fruits as God made them grow on the trees.

Anyway, I decided to look up ripe avocado recipes and found this health line article. Perhaps we will try the brownies since I have most of the ingredients 😊.
Dat bwoy needs to spend more time in Grenada! I can hear the ancestors say 🤣😅
