Bookworms as moms
I am as intrigued by my British American friend’s life as she is about mine. I love that she is really and truly a consistent reader!
I love books! Lately, I’ve been reading less, relaxing with streaming more in between caring for my Sweetsweet and the house. I read articles and inspiration quotes. I browse through devotions. I look at my book shelf with awe. Then sometimes I trace my fingers along the books reminiscing on my years as an English major in college. Book lover but no longer a book worm? Shame on me right?!
Our chat and the many books she gave out of her donation box sparked the reader in me again! Set a goal Tameeka. Turn off the t.v. lock Timothy in his room and read away!
Yes, I shall read! Without distraction, without glancing at my husbands displaced dirty socks on the floor (I will not whine about him not just sticking them in his shoes or better yet put them in the hamper!) I would dive into the story unbothered by the toys and chaos around the living room.
When I read, the characters and scenes come alive, I am right there with the protagonist or other characters. And sometimes I am with the author anticipating the next page. I dare not stop to attend to a crying child or a needy husband…find that shirt yourself darling! I’m reading and I am all in!
In my dreams! And former years of singleness and childlessness ☺ Either way, I am determined to keep reading. You can be both stay at home moms and bibliophiles! 📖
