Why Read the Bible?

Why read the Bible? This was the question asked by Precious Lady Abi on Hope 103.1 FM airing from Grenada this morning. I try to tune in on my phone as often as I can since it is not yet available on US radio stations (as far as I know).

Why do we read the Bible or why should we Christians read the Bible?

Hope 103.1 FM is a Christian gospel radio station managed and ran mostly by members of the church I attended in Grenada. The question was a good one. “Why do I read the Bible or why should I read it everyday?”, I pondered. This is the reply I sent to Precious Lady Abi via text on Whats App:
‘Why read the word– to gain knowledge about the God we serve. To be encouraged. To be informed about the power within. To learn how to live a Christ like life of loving obedience. To be a better human. To find answers. To praise God. For wisdom and insight. To fight the devil. To be blessed.’

As Christians, it is necessary to read the Bible to find out more about the invisible, awesome, incredible Great BIG God that we believe in and serve!
