Growing pains in Toddlers
Timothy started complaining about leg pain on Monday evening. Later as if he analyzed his pain and said mama it is the knee, my knee hurts. It hurt to stand and to walk he cried. My husband, as usual, dismissed his cries. Timothy is quite animated sometimes and I am learning to tell the difference between him just playing around, being dramatic or when he really is having trouble. This morning he called me to carry him to his potty. He started walking then crunched in pain and only put pressure on his right leg. There is no visible signs that something is wrong with his left knee or the leg.
As a mom in 2020, I googled. That is where I found out that growing pains is an actual thing and not just made up by Grenadian grandmothers. Growing pain in toddlers. Could it be growing pain in my 3 year old sweetsweet? I tell him to pray and we pray. I’ve kissed the knee and prayed some more. It is COVID-19 times so I do not want to rush to the doctor. Jesus. As one who likes to know and plan and prepare, I would have liked a heads up from other mamas, hey at around 3 to 10, there may be growing pains haha. I will tell grandmaT my mom know. She is a nurse, I hesitated as not to worry her or myself rather. I am also the God mother and friend to a pediatrician, I will message her as well.
Prayer over worry. Information over fear. Timothy will be okay in Jesus name.
